North Cleave Gut.

1.The D Tract. E2. 5b,5a,4c.

Razorbill Route. Cyril manning described the route as being very difficult and that the rock

 should be handled with care.

North Cleave Gut according to Archer’s guide is 10 yards wide, 120 yards deep with steep walls of 400 and 250ft.

Recent observations in calm weather indicate that the Gut floods on tides in excess of 2.8 metres measured on

the Ilfracombe sill. The known recorded routes are on the huge west wall put up by Martin Crocker followed by the

aquatic Cheek. The last known route was completed at midnight with the near lifeless Cheek being dragged up the

cliff with water pouring out of his laceholes.
